Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 29, 2026
AssetSort Inc. ("us", "we", or "our") operates the AssetSort application (the "Service"). This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use our Service and the choices you have associated with that data.
1. Information Collection and Use
We collect several different types of information for various purposes to provide and improve our Service to you. This includes your name, email address, and payment information when you subscribe to a paid plan.
2. Use of Data
AssetSort Inc. uses the collected data for various purposes: to provide and maintain the Service; to notify you about changes to our Service; to provide customer care and support; to provide analysis or valuable information so that we can improve the Service.
3. Data Security
The security of your data is important to us, but remember that no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
4. Service Providers
We may employ third-party companies and individuals to facilitate our Service ("Service Providers"), to provide the Service on our behalf, to perform Service-related services or to assist us in analyzing how our Service is used. These third parties have access to your Personal Data only to perform these tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose. The current list of sub-processors, their purposes, and hosting locations is published at assetsort.com/legal/subprocessors. Where we process personal data on behalf of a customer organisation, our Data Processing Agreement applies.
5. Cookies
We use only strictly necessary cookies and similar browser storage: keeping you signed in (authentication session) and protecting the security of your account. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics trackers, which is why you do not see a cookie consent banner. If we ever introduce non-essential cookies, we will update this policy and ask for your consent first.
6. Your Rights and Complaints
If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have the right to request access to, rectification of, or erasure of your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to data portability. To exercise these rights, contact us at admin@assetsort.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the data protection supervisory authority in your country of residence or place of work.
Deleting your account. If you hold an AssetSort sign-in, you can delete your account yourself at any time from Settings → Profile. Deletion is scheduled with a 14-day grace period — your account keeps working, and you can cancel it from the same screen — after which we permanently remove your profile, your avatar and your sign-in, every organisation you alone own together with its records, and your membership of every other organisation. Organisations you share with other people must be handed to one of them first: they are those people's records as well as yours. Two things survive by design: your name on activity-log entries in organisations you do not own (those are that organisation's audit trail), and a minimal deletion record — your user id, the address that asked, and when — kept as evidence that the deletion happened.
If your personal data reached AssetSort through your employer or IT service provider (for example, synced from your organisation's Microsoft 365 tenant), that organisation is the data controller — please direct requests to them, and we will assist them in responding. The distinction matters for erasure: we are the controller for account data (the email, name, avatar and sign-in of someone who logs in), which is why account deletion is self-service; we are only a processor for records inside an organisation — the people directory, devices and licences — so a request to erase those goes to that organisation, whose administrators can delete the record directly. We have not designated a Data Protection Officer; privacy enquiries go to the address above.
7. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
